Our Story

Banyan makes it easy for consumers to connect their receipts to the apps and services they choose. Powered by the Banyan API, merchants can seamlessly and securely monetize these connections, while unlocking powerful insights and new marketing opportunities. Banyan provides our merchant partners complete transparency and control, while our privacy-by-design architecture requires consumer consent before any receipts are shared. Financial Institutions, Fintechs, and consumer apps for the first time gain access to item-level transaction data, enabling them to create incredible experiences and products for their customers

Privacy and Security are at the core of Banyan. Our Privacy-By-Design Infrastructure ensures that no customer data is shared without customer opt-in. When customers opt-in, no PII is required to connect customer receipts, no customer names are used, no card numbers are stored, and no identifiable data is tracked on individual customers. No receipt ever leaves our warehouse until user opt-in is confirmed.


Banyan utilizes fast, secure, and compliant cloud services to securely connect to any business partner. Our flexible infrastructure has pre-existing integrations with most major data centers, and our lightweight API means we can quickly create new integrations to suit any use case.

Stephen graduated from Temple University with a degree in accounting and began his professional career with Deloitte and Touché where he was licensed as a CPA and served as an External Auditor. He later transitioned into corporate finance and accounting as a Senior Financial Analyst at The Walt Disney Studios focusing on FP&A for the home entertainment division. Recently he spent 7 years working for the NFL’s finance department, as Director of Finance for the digital media business. Stephen has extensive experience in controllership, budgeting and forecasting, FP&A, business management, and various other operational finance and accounting disciplines.
